Student’s strategies in online autonomous English language learning

This study investigates the integration of online technology by English language learners, especially those done in autonomous learning. To be more specific, this aims to discover how systematic is students’ strategies learning and supports they expect from educational institutions teachers/lecturers terms conducting effective mainly employs survey design which supported interview. The population was undergraduate students Language Education Department a private university Malang, East Java, Indonesia. findings suggest that learners were less their strategy use when They showed lack long term goal setting reported difficulty evaluation, mostly resort short planning, resource finding execution For reasons, avoidance classroom-like feeling not knowing evaluate repeatedly noted. Further, also high expectation teachers institutions’ support assistance current some previous studies area have noted tend consider evaluation as teachers’ areas, influenced fixed curriculum imposed schools university. As such, flexibility enactment proposed stronger intervention learners’ autonomy are proposed.
